Road Trip Elopement on Maui This adventurous Maui elopement involved quite the road trip + so much fun! We spent the day touring around the middle and northern coast of Maui exploring lush green valleys, jungle rivers, tidepools, and seaside cliffs. From rain to shine, Shaz + Matt made the most of this day together and the result was strikingly beautiful. You can really tell these two share such an amazing connection. When Shaz first reached out to me, she told me that she and Matt were both very non-traditional! “A wedding isn’t something either of us want. We both want some thing incredibly small and intimate, just the 2 of us! (Plus photographer). Really, we want to have a photographer capture some amazing moments of us exchanging our vows and hanging out in nature.” It’s so awesome how this awakening is happening among so many couples where they are realizing that these big weddings that seem to be more about table linens and seating charts than about love just aren’t for them. More and more, couples are beginning to look for something deeper. They want their vows to be between the the two of them, maybe a few others. They want to say those vows someplace epic + beautiful. They’re creating days that are uniquely them. Go Back Read More hawaii Guide to Eloping in Hawaii

Guide to Eloping in Hawaii

Are you wondering how to plan an elopement in Hawaii? Well, I think I can help with that! I have been helping couples plan their elopements here in the islands since before I even arrived on island. Living here gives me the local knowledge and insider insight to really assist in the planning process. Plus, the planning process is one of my favorite parts!

How to get started

From the moment eloping in Hawaii became a thought in your pretty head, you probably also heard that little voice saying: okay, but where do we start? I think the simplest thing you can decide is which island. In fact, most couples who reach out to me are torn between islands. Choosing between the Hawaiian islands is not always easy, but it can be as simple as narrowing down what kind of scenery you want to enjoy and the type of activities you’re looking to experience before or after your elopement. Each island is so unique!

Salty Hair + Ocean Air, an adventurous couple’s photoshoot on Oahu Being an Oahu photographer who works with couples is pretty rad, I have to say. I just love that when couples travel to Hawaii, they’re full of that tropical vibe that lends itself to a relaxed, adventurous session. I used to ask if a couple wanted to jump in the ocean together in California, and unless it was crazy hot day, eight times out of ten that usually got met with: “you crazy? It’s freezing” because the Pacific is basically never warm there. In Hawaii though, everyone shows up with swimsuits or at least an expectation that they’ll probably jump in the ocean at some point during the our photoshoot. Just looking at the cerulean waters makes you want to splash around and have a little fun! Kylie + Kālai definitely came ready to play in the ocean. These two grew up on the island and feel right at home by the sea. We chatted about how they’d swam with dolphins in the morning at Makua Beach where we had the session. I mean, swimming with dolphins was always something that I thought of in the context of vacation. I’d done it in Mexico, we’d seen them in Costa Rica, it was an option at a lot of resorts but I guess I didn’t realize that living in Oahu would basically blow my mind because you can just go out and do this on any given day. I don’t think I’ll ever move away because dolphins. Go Back Read More How to Elope in Scotland So, you want to elope but maybe you haven’t figured out where. Your Hawaii Elopement Photographer + Intimate Wedding Photographer

HEY, I’M RANDI

An adventurous elopement photographer + destination wedding photographer based in Hawaii. I live here on the island of Oahu with my best friend & our family (a corgi pup + two parrots). I’m often described as quirky, kind, and compassionate. I’ve always been in love with the outdoors and with the ocean, I feel my truest self when I’m taking in the incredible views nature offers us. I’m so, so lucky to do what I love where I love to do it. That means capturing authentic, intricate moments and the in-between of life all over this beautiful world. I value experiences over possessions and believe relationships are the most precious gift we have. I truly know deep in my heart that my purpose on this earth is to preserve these moments in the form of artful photographs. If I can capture that wild spirit of love in a frame that can be shared, it makes me feel that I’ve done something meaningful. Simply put, I want to tell your story in a way that highlights how it felt rather than just how it looked. If that resonates with you, let’s tell your story together.

MY WORK

Kind Words

Natalie + Patrick

There aren’t words, only deep feelings of joy and gratitude for Randi and how she perfectly captured our wedding. She captured everyone’s personalities, she caught all the little moments, and most of all she captured all the love. I’ve pretty much cried at least 5 times since seeing just a few of the photos so far. Girl you’re amazing!

Sarah + Simeon

Randi was THE BEST. My husband and I traveled to HI for our honeymoon and didn’t know anything about Maui, but she took us to THE BEST spots, and just let us enjoy those moments together while she documented it. She was quick on her feet and super personable. Her pricing is reasonable and we not only got THE MOST DREAMY PHOTOS EVER in one of our favorite places, but we also got some of the best memories together from our photo session with Randi. She spent a lot of time emailing me, asking me questions, and planning the perfect shoot for us, because she cares about making each session unique to her couples. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with Randi. Do yourself a favor and BOOK HER!

Theressa + Matt

We got married in June 2019 and had Randi as our photographer for the whole event. From private vows to the ceremony to the reception, Randi made us feel comfortable and natural. Both my husband and I are camera shy, but with Randi we didn’t feel inauthentic. She is so sweet and was open to all of our ideas, she captured the most candid moments and I can’t wait to work with her again when we do our vow renewals. The photo quality was impeccable, she captured the view of the ocean behind us as perfectly and edited the photos really nicely. We did our private vows at the beach and there were some people in the photos but she was able to edit them out and made it look like we had the whole (public) beach to ourselves! The moments she captured will forever be cherished by my husband and I, as well as all of our family and friends. She is priceless, and she is worth every penny! Thank you again for everything, I think it’s so important to choose a photographer that fits your needs and to not under budget for your photographer. We checked out Randi’s instagram and website before we finalized payment, and we are so happy.

Kristen + David

When my husband and I decided to elope, we weren’t quite sure where to start – but I knew that I wanted a photographer that could capture the day perfectly. Randi dove right in from our very first phone call. She helped us with a location, an officiant, and even made a special location for our family happen after the ceremony. She made the day super fun, completely stress-free and so incredibly memorable. And ever after all of that, there’s her photography skills! I couldn’t have asked for anything more in the way that she captured all of the details of the most important day of our lives so that we could share the story with our family and friends later on. If you want something intimate, memorable and just fun, Randi is your photographer. We’re so happy with our photos and our experience with her – we can’t recommend her enough!!

Jack + Anthony

I seriously can’t say enough great things about Randi! She was the perfect photographer to capture our elopement. From the very beginning she was always available to answer any questions I had. Having to plan our day from another state I thought would be very difficult but she was there to help us choose the perfect vendors and gorgeous locations. When the day came I was so anxious, but she made us feel so comfortable and relaxed and our photos came out so beautifully. My husband and I had never taken any professional photos before but she had a way of directing us to make us let loose and not look awkward. We were provided with a sneak peek of our day so quickly to be able to share with our loved ones. Those few photos alone would already have been worth booking Randi. Her photos are seriously so stunning! We are SO in love with our wedding gallery and we are SO thankful to have had chosen Randi as our photographer. We will definitely be choosing her again in the future for an anniversary shoot.

Lisa + Alex

We couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend our elopement with! Randi went above and beyond to help us find a location, and was open for anything. We ended up on a strenuous, but gorgeous hike on Maui, with no plans to reach the top – however once we were in it, we couldn’t resist going all the way. Camera equipment and all, Randi was ready for the climb and didn’t skip a beat. She delivered a beautiful gallery that we will treasure forever, along with the memories we have with her on this amazing day! Thank you Randi!
