Vintage hues + pretty textures created this boho wedding style

If you dig velvet and vintage colors, you’re going to love Allison + Josh’s wedding at Rimrock Ranch near Joshua Tree National Park.

I love the way Allison played with color for her bridesmaids and decor, choosing an eclectic mix of textures and rich tones that really worked beautifully with these desert wedding venue. She also chose a desert friendly way to approach florals by having Auroral Floral craft bouquets and bracelets with dried flowers. I think this is genius since the warm sun and wind can be a challenge to keeping florals looking fresh all day.

Allison + Josh also incorporated so much of their personal style into their wedding, making it really about them as individuals. They found beautiful ways to include family as well, like this pin on Allison’s jacket and the handkerchief, both family heirlooms.

Allison also chose the sweetest gifts for bridesmaids by making them personal to each individual rather than going with the same item for each of her gorgeous ladies. Every piece had meaning to their relationship, some were vintage, and each had a handwritten note.

When it came time for Allison to put her dress on, I basically died over delicate lace and statement back! The light streaming in the windows created such a perfect spot to step into this amazing wedding dress. Her dress was crafted by the incredible Dreamers and Lovers, creators of bohemian dream wedding dresses!

Once ready, she opened a card and gift from her groom. He got her the cutest little bird necklace to keep her maiden name close to her heart.

Did I mention this was probably one of THE most fun-loving groups I have photographed? Seriously, just before the ceremony I came in to grab some last minute prep shots and found a dance party!

Josh got ready on the opposite side of Rimrock Ranch with this awesome vintage bus nearby. We knew right away that the bus needed to be in some shots. I love the way he had some of the groomsmen choose velvet jackets while others mixed in funky colors and floral ties. It all just worked!

Allison + Josh chose to have his aunt officiate their wedding, she led them through the sweetest ceremony in a pair of six inch heels and I’ll never quite know how she did it. I can hardly walk in heels myself, but this woman is a force of nature.

Things now official, we headed out into the desert for some fun shots of their friends + family.

The sunset over Joshua Tree National Park makes a perfect back drop for any wedding day. Eloping in Joshua Tree is also a fantastic idea, there’s so much to be inspired by with the varying landscapes out here.

After our time in the desert, we headed back to enjoy the evening which was a freaking blast.

See, even mom + dad were in on the fun 😉

Thanks to the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
